Alone in a new place, weird & nostalgic
Posted by Liza under Personal
I have too much time on my hands.
It’s because I’m in Atlanta alone, and I’m still homeless. Maybe I should learn to knit or some such managable-sized hobby.
Instead, I’ve been doing a lot of web surfing, genus "I wonder what ever happened to XYZ." I’ve googled exes and old friends, commented on their blogs and wikis, re-joined email lists I’ve been off for a decade, or close to a decade, and bought crap on ThinkGeek.
And I’ve gathered 20 signatures of Wisconsin lawyers for the Lawyers Against The [Anti-Gay Marriage] Amendment letters, cleaned up my personal email, and started researching how to best consolidate and organize my various retirement accounts. I’m not delighted with any of the investment services I currently use. (Fidelity for the old work 401k, BuyAndHold, E*Trade, and Wachovia.)
Actually, that last is the project I’ll tackle next. I’ll let you know my opinons. That’s a much better use of my time.
