The cast of M*A*S*H threw Jill a surprise mini-shower before their show on Saturday night — imagine my surprise when she came home with 3/4 of a sheet cake on Saturday night! And with a very cute card and a gift card for Babies R Us.

Incidently, the cake was VERY nice, decorated with lavender roses that reminded us of our wedding. And our suspicions of which cast members were the key instigators were right on target. If any of you read this, THANK YOU!!!

We concluded that there was no way we were capable of eating all that cake ourselves, so I brought it in to work this morning. Naturally, after putting in the back seat of my car, I forgot about it completely.

Fortunately, one of my coworkers brought in donuts, reminding me that I had a treat too. So after eating a donut, I went back to my car and brought up the cake.

Then I had some cake.

Around 12:30, I was feeling sugar-crashy and a little gross for eating all that sugar. So I went downstairs and made myself have some chicken salad at the little luncheonette in the building.

At 1, I had a monthly "all hands" meeting with the VP over my whole area. What would you serve at a meeting like that? Cake, of course. Fantastic-looking fancy gourmet cake, no less. At least I limited myself to one of the four kinds offered.

Good thing Lil Smudge likes cake — and that I can safely brush my teeth again.

(BTW, I found a toothpaste that doesn’t even make me want to throw up! Tom’s of Maine now has a spearmint gel that doesn’t require me to control the desire to throw up — I can just brush my teeth like a regular person!!!!!!)
