7 Weeks??????

I don’t actually LOOK at the countdown banner at the top of the blog very often.

I just looked.

Even though I intellectually know that I only have about 7 weeks left, I just GOT IT that I only have about 7 weeks left. Holy crap do we have a lot to do in the next 7 weeks. And then we’ll be Mommies!!! For the rest of our lives!

And in the immediate short term, we’ll crazed, sleep-deprived, exhausted people. I recently ran into a colleague who was positively gray and bleary with the chaos of being a new Dad. (Incidently, he swears by the womb-sounds teddy bear.)

Ack!!!

What do womb sounds sound like? I think I have to get one for our baby just to find out… And do womb sounds have any effect on adults? Some long buried fetal memories might kick in. Some one must have done a thesis on this at some point.

Well, we did get one of these bears as a shower gift. So if you’d like, I can play it for you guys over the phone!

What it sounds like to ME is a kind of muffled/under-water heartbeat with a sort of a whoosh-whoosh quality to it.

And as to the scarier of your questions , searching Google Scholar (http://scholar.google.com) didn’t produce anything conclusive. But your google-fu may be superior to mine.
