6 More Weeks of Winter? No Wait, That’s Not It
Posted by Liza under Pregnancy
This will probably be my last post until 12/26 or 12/27. We leave tomorrow after work, driving to spend Christmas with Jill’s parents and visiting our friends Erin & Kevin and their kids. The plan is to drive ~half way tomorrow evening, and the rest of the way on Friday.
That’ll be my last travel at all until some time after the baby is born.
And on Friday, I’ll officially have 6 weeks left until my due date. SCARY. And at the same time, I’m getting excited. And tired of being pregnant.
Amusing and Random Thoughts:
- I am bringing approximately 5 lbs of organic gala apples with us.
- This blog has converted at least one other pregnant person to my gala apple appreciation club (or GAAC!)
- It’s a Boy: Women Writers on Raising Sons, edited by Andrea Buchanan, is outstanding.
- I can only think of 7 positive things that I would include on my Top 10 Things I’m Looking Forward To Doing When I’m Not Pregnant. And I don’t want to list things of the "stop doing X" variety.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas.
If you don’t celebrate Christmas, at least you can look forward to an end of the pervasive Christmas music and diminishing frequency of the phrase "War on Christmas." I think those sound wonderful and I do celebrate Christmas!

Yes, it is your fault that I cant go a day without a gala apple.
I didnt even like apples before.. now I’m wondering what time of year the orchards open up so I can get them from the tree instead of from the store.
Proud member of GAAC!
I’m sure I can get them in Milwaukee.. right?

I recommend trying Sendik’s for the gala apples in Milwaukee. I can’t promise, but that’s where I would look. My Mom said a huge one opened up in Waukesha County, which is probably closer to Dave’s folks than the ones on the East Side. But not as much fun.
Is it insane that I’m taking more apples to DC than I can possibly eat? I figure I’ll convert Erin while I’m there, even though she isn’t pregnant.
Fresh from the orchard sounds AMAZING. Damn! Now I have that fantasy going on too.

I am SURE Dave’s mom will know where to send me for them! I know she is a big fan of Sendik’s.
The orchard version… TO DIE FOR
They just taste so much better.
