Here I am at 8 Months Pregnant – D-Day is 2/3/2006!
Three different people at work — all fathers of babies or toddlers — expressed astonishment today at the fact that I still have a month to go.
I’ve also outgrown at least half of my maternity clothes. My favorite two outfits are now a velour sweatsuit and a pair of flannel pjs that I bought in 1X. The flannel pjs are a little scary, with a snowman pattern in which the snowmen have glow-in-the-dark heads. And it really doesn’t take much light to make them glow. My remaining work shirts are maternity 1X. And I am no-kidding winded when I finish walking up the stairs.

ahh! You look so cute!!!!
I’m growing out of my maternity clothes too. Especially the shirts (I can wear the pants low sometimes to stretch out their life when they become bellytight). I dont get it. They’re MATERNITY clothes. Shouldnt they last throughout the pregnancy???? I’m not buying a whole new wardrobe at 28 weeks even if I could FIND maternity clothes to fit me this big!

It’s insane, isn’t it?
I have the incredibly strong feeling that I’m going to be coming to work in that velour sweatsuit during the last week or two. Luckily, I accidently bought those grey pants in the picture WAY too large early on in the pregnancy, so they now fit well.
i think you look adorable! at least you have a good reason to be outgrowing your clothes, unlike some of us.
You look amazing. So so wonderful!
Yes, I echo all of you growing out of your maternity clothes. Funny – I first went shopping at 8 weeks, feeling like an idiot cuz it was so early. I bought some really big things that I was told should last me throughout my entire pregnancy. I pulled out a few of those things and now realize they are *just* a bit too tight.
Luckily, I’m a student, so no one would flinch if I did show up in a velour track suit to work. I just have to go buy one now!
Look at your cute shoes!
When Kristin and I went maternity clothes shopping I made her buy some pants that she thought were obscenely big. We actually had a fight about it right there in the store. She wanted to get one size smaller (that fit her then) and kept telling me that they were stretchy enough to last the whole time, that there was no way she would get big enough to fit the pants I wanted her to buy. I told her that she might be mad at me now, but she would be happy later (aren’t I annoying?) and those pants were the only ones she could wear at the end of the pregnancy (I decided after that fight to keep my nose out of her maternity clothes decision and so most of the pants she ended up with were too small)
I didn’t mean to sound like such a jerk in my earlier post. It’s just that I’ve been around so many pregnant women and Kristin hadn’t so she really had no idea she’d get as big with baby as she did. (and she didn’t really get all that big)
Oh and more of you looks cute than just your shoes. All of you is cute. I’m just on a shoe kick lately…
All of you are so sweet! Thank you.
Those shoes, by the way, are my absolute favorites. They’re Fluevogs, they have enough traction that I wore them to Wisconsin in December (I have no boots anymore), and they are incredibly comfortable. I’ll post a better pic of them.
Working in tech, I can dress pretty informally. What I was wearing above is about average for my work-wear. (What a far cry from my past life of being a DC lawyer!!!) My boss even wears shorts to work on a regular basis.
Part of me knows that no one will care if I wear the sweatsuit to work, but I’ve never come to work THAT informally before and I’m just not entirely comfortable. You can take the woman out of the law firm, but you can’t take the lawyer out of the woman?
And Trista, I don’t think you sound like a jerk. Most of what still fits me are things that I got as hand-me-downs from my cousin. The things I bought early either barely fit or fit because I bought them “too big” by accident. (It’s a good thing I’m so lazy about returning things!) I wish someone had been there to argue with me.
Oh yeah, I’m seriously wended when I reach the top of the stairs as well. Hubby’s office and the nursery are upstairs and Hubby asked why I was out of breath the other day when all I did was walk up the stairs!!
I think you look great!!
And I outgrew my first shirt this weekend. I hate to admit it, but it bummed me out for the entire week. I guess I’d better get used to it!!
