• I ate the poorest excuse for a vegetable that I’ve ever eaten, or even heard of, but it was good! It was called a "broccoli bite" and was a mixture of broccoli and American cheese, battered and deep fried.
  • The medical visit indicated that I’m still in good health and so is Smudge, but sadly, he’s not showing any signs of joining us soon. Oddly, the Medical Assistant told us that I was going to need to be examined at yesterday’s visit and instructed me to strip to the waist. When the midwife arrived in the room, she looked completely startled and asked "Why are you undressed?" When we told her, she asked, "Why would I do that?"
  • My friend Madelaine, who would be the doctor delivering Smudge if we lived near her, gave some probably-good-but-kinda-depressing advice yesterday. She said to assume that my due date was really a week after my due date, and that I probably wouldn’t go any sooner than that. Since we already know most first babies are late, she’s probably right. Even though I want her to be wrong.
