No News Update #12
Posted by Liza under Pregnancy
I can’t believe this is "no news" update #12.
But it is. The interview is at 10 am, they should be outta here by 11 am, and I really hoped that Smudge’s perverse sense of humor would have me go into "go to the hospital" labor by now.
My new suspicion is that his sense of humor will either trigger labor tomorrow, right around when my MUL goes back home, or Saturday, a birthday that is already spoken for within our circle of friends.
I’ve given up completely on labor-inducing old wives tales.
Fruit & Veg Count, 2/7: 1 organic gala apple, ~1 cup pumpkin & wild mushroom risotto (so maybe 1/3 cup veggies out of that?)

You are souding so much more calm than I would be. Hope all this waiting is over soon and we’re getting a lots of news update.

Ditto on the last comment. You’re sounding awfully calm… me on the other hand? I’m about to pull my hair out!!!

Since I happen to know the person who’s birthday is Saturday .. quite well.. I can assure you that he would be happy to share with Smudge.
I think at this point you just throw your hands in the air and just let him come when he’s ready… or go to another fancy department store.. maybe it isnt Macy’s you need to go to, but Saks or Nordstrom.. or.. WAIT, I’VE GOT IT.. TIFFANY’S.
Oh please have your water break in Tiffany’s!

Heh.
I think I’ve finally accepted that I have NO CONTROL over this, as much as I might wish otherwise. It’s oddly liberating.
This is not to say that when I go in to this Friday’s medical appointment, and they agree to talk about induction, that I won’t beg for the soonest available time slot.
But the fact is, the baby is going to come out when he’s good and ready, and I can’t do a damn thing about it.
I can no longer really tell whether or not I’m having contractions vs the baby is stretching, or “real” contractions vs Braxton-Hicks. There’s still lots of action going on in there, but I don’t think it means anything.
And the interview went well, I think. They don’t know yet when/where it will be run, but they’ll let me know.

Tiff-an-y! Tiff-an-y! Tiff-an-y! PLEASE go into labor at Tiffany! I bet they’d give you a silver rattle as a baby gift! Or you could just clutch whatever you were looking at with a labor induced vice grip and get it for free…THAT doesn’t count as shoplifting.

See… Anna and I totally agree on this. I think it is the right thing to do.
Make it happen

Hi Liza,
I’m the soon to be in the wisdom course person who looked you up after seeing your display at the gift-swap social event!! I have been checking in on you intermittently over the past few months, as I am procrastinating on my homework for my first weekend in March!!
I just wanted to make sure you know that on many airlines, if your child is born during a flight, he gets lifetime free flights! I think Lufthansa was one of them. How about a quick jaunt to Europe? You could do that easy for the price of Stones tickets.
Best wishes, Sallie

Heh. Make it happen. SURE…I’m on it.

Hey Sallie — of course I remember you, and welcome back! Good luck with your homework.
What a hilarious idea! The only down side is how incredibly long I’d have to be on the plane and in the airport. I can barely sit still for 15 minutes without wriggling around or getting up and sitting somewhere else.
