Today is my first day back on the 4 days/week, 8 hours/day schedule. I’m not sure yet how I feel about it.

I know that Noah is in good hands, but leaving him as he was shrieking his little head off today was even harder than 2 weeks ago. Even though I know he was shrieking because it was time for his first morning nap. Noah slept late this morning (until 6:40 am, she brags), and he usually begins to melt down about an hour and 15 minutes after he wakes up. It goes on for 15-30 minutes, until he falls asleep for 45 minutes or so. Which had him at peak meltdown as I was getting ready to leave.

Usually, I’ll be working M-Th, but the babysitter had auditions yesterday. I think the change makes it harder, at least for me.

We also have the Best Babysitter Ever visiting this weekend, Dr. Madelaine. She’s a family doc who would be our family doc if we lived in the same place. Madelaine made us promise that we’d go out and do something fun this weekend, and we will. But that means less time with Noah, and then back to work 4 days before I get a good shot of Noah time again.
