Sorry for the long delay in posting an update.

The home visit went just fine. Noah was utterly charming for most of it. The woman who conducted it spent most of the time asking Jill about her life story, in surprising detail for the early years. She didn’t ask any of the scary questions we tortured each other with from Saturday until she arrived. The closest she got was asking a few questions about Noah’s child care and our plans for his education, and she shared a few of her own very strong opinions, particularly about middle and high schools in the metro area.

After it was over, we took Noah out for some much needed outdoor time, and then came home and he and I crashed on the couch. His teachers say he hasn’t been napping well at school, probably because it gets loud and he seems to be upset by that. They also say most of the kids who react that way at first adjust within the first two weeks.

Then we went over to The Baby Juggler’s for pizza, venting, and decompressing. They oooooed and ahhhhhed over how much bigger and more responsive and fun Noah has gotten since they last time they saw him, and we ooooooed and ahhhhhhed over how much bigger and more verbal Mini and Jr have gotten since the last time we saw them. They liked Noah’s Hank the Duck, and Jr loved the little trucks on Noah’s overalls, and Noah liked their musical alphabet ball.

Here are two views of "the lion-headed thing." I assume it’s male because of the mane. The outside the softest material I’ve ever touched, and the inside is a polyester satin.
