Good!
Posted by Liza under The Real Live Boy, PLLP
Noah is saying his first clearly identifiable word: Good!
Among the things that are Good! are:
- apples
- pears
- anything he can put in his mouth himself
- clapping
- getting to come to the mommies’ bed at 4 am after being up from 2:30 - 3 am and keeping mommy up another half hour actively nursing with my eyes closed
- nursing
- new toys or shiny objects
- getting a mommy’s attention
His teachers claim that he can also say “uh-oh” and wave “bye-bye” but we are not so sure. Waving his hands has been a wildly popular activity with Noah for some time now, and I’m not yet convinced that it has communicative properties. We have heard an “uh-uh-uh-uh-uh” sound, but we aren’t sure whether that’s the “uh-oh” in question or just a sound Noah like’s to make.
We’ll try to capture all this cuteness on some video this weekend.
Other than that, all of us are sick. Jill has bronchitis, I developed a scratchy throat and stuffy head yesterday, and Noah’s fever is gone, but now he’s coughing and congested. He’s also been asleep for almost 2.5 hours, which may be the longest nap he’s taken in the last 6 months.
I also realized I haven’t been doing my Project Live Long & Prosper reporting in days and days. I’m also reviving the ramp-down on caffine.
PLLP, 11/3: Veggies: squash casserole; no fruit or exercise; 2 cups coffee, 1 black tea.
PLLP, 11/4 (so far): Fruit: 1/3 apple, 1/2 cup raspberries; anticipate lots of carrots & sweet potato in the crock pot chicken stew I’m making, and if it isn’t too cold, a nice walk when Noah gets up; 2 cups coffee.

Don’t forget his enthusiastic reaction “Good!” upon hearing how a certain nearby…ahem, “grown-up folks’” establishment was “bumpin” when we drove past it yesterday…

Did you know that Isabel said Amalie’s first word was “Dog!”
Almost exact opposites…hmmm

Heehee. Jill and I are sharing a computer at the moment. But it is true, she commented to me how the local str*p club parking lot was crowded, and Noah piped up “Good!”
