We had a really nice weekend.

On Saturday our new babysitter, a cute little babydyke student at one of our local colleges, came over and took Noah for a Very Long Walk so we could babyproof the kitchen. We took him for a second walk later that afternoon, and I took him out to meet some friends in the evening.

Today, Noah had a wonderful 2 hour nap in the morning, followed by church, and then another snuggly nap with mommy. In fact, we were The Napping House for awhile this afternoon.

When we all woke up, we had a play date at Cole’s house. Cole was born in the same hospital, with the same midwives, the day before Noah.

In fact, we determined today that the reason we had to sit around for so long waiting for the midwife to come see us when we got to the hospital is because we arrived about half an hour before Cole was actually born.

We liked his parents. Cole’s mom made amazing pumpkin “cake” (more like pie) and we commiserated on sleep and feeding babies and worrying about them hurting themselves, then she fixed our strap confusion WRT the second car seat, so I won’t have to bring the seat back after I drop Noah off at day car any more. (She’s a health educator and baby safety expert.)

Hopefully Cole’s family won’t be moving away any time soon. Although we didn’t actually ask.

Tomorrow morning is Noah’s 9 month doctor visit, where we get the official statistics on his size, and the poor guy gets tortured with more shots. Just as he was over being sick, no less!
