Dear Noah,

Today, you are 11 months old. Compare to just 11 weeks:
I Know I'm CuteHanging Out

It’s almost impossible to get that next month, you will have been here for a year.

This month had some pretty awesome milestones, like your first Christmas, sleeping through the night regularly, and your first real walking (with help, still).

It also had some bad milestones, like your first time getting sick and puking your poor little guts out. Over and over. Till your mommies finally quit letting you put solid food in your mouth. And having someone you actually know die.

It was Mr. Ken, who died. He lived across the street, and told you he was going to teach you all about airplanes and engines, and who knew just where little boys are ticklish. He and his wife, Miss Alison, were very nice to your mommies while I was pregnant with you, and to all of us since you were born. Your mommies are going to miss him.
On a more cheerful note:

  • You totally get how to eat with a spoon. You don’t always do it, but if I hand you a spoon with food on it, you nearly always put the food in your mouth all by your self. (You just don’t enjoy that game as much after the 4th or 5th repetition.)
  • You love to be held upside down or partly upside down.
  • You’ve hit the “point at objects and demand to know what they are” stage. It’s hard, because you could be pointing at anything in 10 foot diameter, at any distance, but we guess, and you seem happy with our answers. (Of course, for all you know, mailman and light switch are the same thing. But you won’t be fooled by that for long.)
  • You love to chat and walk. Nothing we’ve tried makes you happier.

Your mommy had some exciting milestones this month, too. I won an award for all this blogging about you, and was invited to become an official blogger for a national gay & lesbian newspaper chain. Hopefully the next new writing project (whatever it is) will even pay.

Thanks for giving me so much to talk about, Noah, and for giving me the motivation to keep trying to do better.

Your mommies love you very much.

love,
