Drama at Casa Booski
Posted by Liza under Personal
Noah had his first bloody nose this morning. It happened about a minute before we were supposed to leave for day care.
One minute, he was rushing around the front hall, and the next minute, the mean old rug reached up and tripped him.
Boom. Face meet rug.
At first, we thought he was fine and had just shaken it off. But even though he stepped away from us, he kept crying, and then we noticed the blood.
Fortunately, it wasn’t a heavy flow (maybe because Noah has a bad cold?) and it stopped pretty quickly.
By the time we got to school, 20 minutes later, Noah was totally over it and focused on his two favorite things about getting to school: Cheerios, and Baby Katie. He didn’t even look at me again after I got the cereal out; instead, Noah demonstrated his scary new little boyness by pulling out the tiny chair and climbing into it so he could have breakfast.
Here’s a cute picture from yesterday. As you can see, the mylar balloon is still hanging in there.

Both Saturday and this morning, Noah got up at 4:45 am. We hate that. Especially since Jill was a little bit sick on Sunday and woke up at 4 — accidentally waking me up too, and also Noah. Fortunately we went back to sleep.
My plan to keep him up until 7:30 pm, “no matter how awful it is for all 3 of us” was thrown out the window at 6:58 when a tired melting-down little boy rubbed a fistful of refried beans into his right eye.

Owie! I’m glad he’s okay.
