Dear Noah,

This is going to be a short birthday letter, but it comes with the best present so far: a new cousin!

Aunt Anna & Uncle Jason had baby Max today! He’s a sweet little peanut, weighing in at 6 lbs, 6 oz, and 19 inches long. Max has long toes, lots of curling dark hair, and a sweet face.

Lucky for me, I was in New York anyway, so I got to meet Max when he was just a couple of hours old. I think you’re going to like him!

You’ve had a big month yourself, my sweet boy. We changed day care providers. I’m not sure how you feel about it yet. You don’t get excited and ask “School? School?” in the morning, and you cry when I put on your shoes. You also seem to be hitting me and mommy more.

But it could just be that you don’t like change, and that once you get used to it, you’ll like it. I wish I knew. God I wish I knew.

You also cut some new teeth this month — you’re up to 5! We can’t keep track of your new words any more, but your favorites at the moment are “No! Mommy! No!” and “Sky?” and “Byebye ______.” (Mommy, or GoGo, or Wawer (in the bath).)

I’m going to go upstairs now, look in on you, and then go to sleep. I can’t wait to see you in the morning.

I love you so very much. Both of your mommies do.

Mommy
