GO MASSACHUSETTS!
Posted by Liza under Current Affairs, Opinion
Hurray! Hurray! Massachusetts defeated the constutitional amendment that would have taken away marriage equality.
Here are the details in Bay Windows.
AND a big huge thank-you to Lizzie for calling and telling me. Which I forgot to include at first. Doh!

I’m really proud of the Mass State Legislature for voting to block the ammendment. I also have to give huge props to Gov. Deval Patrick for his very vocal opposition to the ammendment and his very visible support for equal rights for all citizens. This year he became the first MA Governor to march in the annual Boston Gay Pride parade. It’s always gratifying when I see the officials that I voted for acting in the public’s interest.

Know anyone who wants to hire a lawyer? I know — I KNOW — moving to MA is not in the master plan. But the idea of being able to ACTUALLY LEGALLY FOR REAL NO SHIT get married has a lot of appeal.

If you are even vaguely serious, I’m finding you a job tomorrow so Casa Booski can move to Massachusetts.
Don’t tease me like that!

Um. I don’t know if I’m serious or not. How about, we’re sorely tempted, although not serious at the moment? But if there was a job, we might be?

Well.. you know.. I did some poking around too.. We have a lawyers group where I work (you know, the giant Jewish non-profit that knows everyone) and I spoke to the group leader and he’s hooking me up with someone who is a headhunter for the Boston legal community.
So there.
