We had a lovely weekend. The demon who possessed Noah last week took most of the weekend off, leaving us with a cuddly, affectionate boy who felt like running at top speed most of the weekend.

Also, we went to a birthday party for the 5 year old big brother of Noah’s best friend, Kaylee. Kaylee was in Noah’s class at the first day care, and her family switched to the new day care this fall. We were thrilled!
It is adorable how much Kaylee loves Noah. She sprinted over to us to hug Noah, grinning from ear to ear, when we arrived. Then she sat down next to him and stuck one of those paper-curling tooting things in his mouth, at which point he looked at her like “Crazy woman! What am I supposed to do with that???” and spat it on the floor. Then she tried to put a Superman mask on him.

They both loved me playing peek-a-boo in the Superman mask, though.

Anyway, after some good initial torture and also pizza, Kaylee and Noah chased each other around one of those play places with half a dozen inflatable bouncy houses.

Every time they lost each other, they would both yell for the other. Every time one did something strange, like decide to crawl instead of run, or take a full-lie-down rest, the other would promptly do the same. We died from the cuteness.

There was some bad news about their friendship, though. Apparently — the day care didn’t tell us this, only Kaylee’s parents — one day last week, Noah and Kaylee surrounded one of the other kids in the class and took turns hitting him or her like a bongo drum. Toddler thugs. Adorable toddler thugs.
