That? That is silence. The kind you hear when there are no toddlers awake in your house. At 5:09 am.

I’m still a little afraid to jinx it, but Noah has slept until sometime between 6:25 and 7:15 am every morning this week. That means he’s getting close to 11 hours of sleep per night!

Which kicks the ass of his waking up at 5 or 4:55 or 5:10 am, like he did last week.

He still does a wakeful thing around then, moaning and thrashing around for a minute or two, maybe murmuring (usually something about Mommy). But within 5 minutes, the beautiful silence is restored.

Because I am paranoid, I only reset my own alarm clock by 15 minutes, and I only did it today.

And because I look gift horses in the mouth, I actually wish Noah would get up closer to 6 - 6:15 am. My plot to move bedtime up last night failed utterly.

Still, I love this new routine. And if Noah keeps sleeping in like this, I’ll reset my alarm clock by another 15 minutes next week!
