Studying
Shortly after Noah was born, we got a letter from Emory University, asking us to agree to be on a list of people who might be contacted for studies by their Child Development Center. We thought that would be kind of cool, and sent back the postcard.
And then we never thought about it again.
Last week, […]

Houston, We Have Transition
Tonight, Noah resisted his usual bedtime routine in a new way.
Usually, after the last diaper change, putting on pjs, and brushing of his 6 teeth, he demands to be read to (or to nurse) in the glider rocker in his room.
In fact, if Jill is sitting in the rocker for some reason, he runs over […]

20 Months
Dear Noah,
Today, you are 20 months old. On Saturday, I accidentally told someone you were 21 months old, but I promise, I’m not rushing you to grow up any faster.

Do You Hear That?
That? That is silence. The kind you hear when there are no toddlers awake in your house. At 5:09 am.
I’m still a little afraid to jinx it, but Noah has slept until sometime between 6:25 and 7:15 am every morning this week. That means he’s getting close to 11 hours of sleep per night!
Which kicks […]

If You Haven’t Been There…
On my way home from work the other day, I noticed a bumper sticker on the car in front of me. It said:
IF YOU HAVEN’T
BEEN THERE
SHUT YOUR MOUTH
There was a tiny graphic next to the words, which I spent 3 intersections trying to read. It looked like a military medal.
I can’t remember the last time […]
