I’m an NPR Geek

And you should be one too.
Go listen to this hilarious story/review of Christmas music by Stephen Thompson.
For those of you who don’t know Stephen, he spent 10 years as the AV Club editor at The Onion, before moving to NPR. And back before The Onion was a profit-making venture, he also worked for the United Council of UW Students. (The Wisconsin statewide student lobbying organization.) Conveniently their offices were in the same building, way back then.
I am happy to report that Stephen is as hilarious as ever.
Anyway, while you could not pay me enough to listen to 18 hours of new Christmas albums, I’m glad someone did, and I’m thinking about getting the Staple Singers CD. I am *not* thinking about getting the Conway Twitty CD with the lisping countrified Tweety Bird. Even if Stephen thinks it’s a cult classic.

Conway Twitty holds a special place in my heart. Have you ever heard his song, “Lord I love that lady wearing tight-fittin’ jeans”? It is pure gold.

Cali, the lisping “Twitty Bird” is still in my head. Some things are just wrong.
