We Are OK
Posted by Liza under Current Affairs
Yes, there were amazingly scary tornadoes or hail or dramatic high wind or some sort of extreme weather events in Atlanta late tonight. We are ok. We even still have power. Noah didn’t even wake up.
We hope and pray that the many people who were down at the Georgia Dome and Centennial Olympic Park, and others who have been impacted, are ok.
The pictures of bent steel beams from billboards and sheet metal flying from parking decks are scary, as is the fact that very limited video coverage seems to be available — reports are saying that the CNN Center is damaged.

Pictures as of 10:30 pm on the Atlanta Journal-Constitution web site show blown out windows in CNN HQ, similar things in other parts of downtown area. Delighted you do not live downtown. Even more thrilled you are all safe.
This is only supposed to happen in Kansas!

Glad to hear you are all ok! Isn’t it amazing how precious babies can sleep through almost anything? From the pictures and video footage I have seen it looks like there is quiet a bit of damage to the CCN center, Omni Hotel, Georgia Dome, World Congress Center, Centennial Park, and all other surrounding buildings. I’m sending praises up to the Lord in Heaven that personal injury appears to be minimal.
Please stay safe as the rounds of storms pass through today.
