Smith College, Class of 2030?
Posted by Liza under Knocked Up Again
Yup.
That baby in there is a girl.
She looks very healthy, with the appropriate number of appendages, chambers in the heart, blood flow, etc.
From a 1:2485 chance of her having a serious genetic disorder, we are now moved to a roughly 1:5000 chance. The perinatologist said that without an amnio, that’s about the most favorable odds they are willing to give. He concurred with our view that the risk associated with an amnio outweighs the value of additional information, although emphasized that it is my choice to get one if I want it.
No, thanks.
Unsurprisingly, she is measuring a few days ahead of her gestational age. I grow big babies.
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Somehow it’s much more real and exciting with this one additional piece of information.

Noah is going to be outnumbered in the household. I predict a lot of grandpa visits from both sides of the family to share the experience of how to survive when outnumbered by girls.
However, I’m already shopping for adorable girl baby things. Now, about those mountains of boy clothes that have been outgrown….

Wow! What are the odds? Oh yeah, 50/50.
Congratulations! She will be lovely and brash and all things wonderful, and Noah gets to be protective big brother.
It’s up to you to get the other 0.75 kid and dog.

I adore little girls. But I admit, I’m biased.
Congratulations!

Your title says it all!!! How exciting to have a daughter. You will be great woman-parents - she’s a lucky girl and Noah — well he will, as Carrie says, be a great big bro I’m sure. I think you need another Takoma Park shower though — even the most liberated women want girl-clothes, I think. My favorite nearly two-year-old toddler girl, fondly known as “the bumper car” because, unlike her big brother, she can climb on to, fall off of or bump into almost anything without a peep - goes NOWHERE without her bracelet, her purse and her baby.
