The human body has some serious design flaws. I mean really. We are absolutely the best argument against the whole “intelligent design” idea. Intelligent design? Puh-leeze.
I’m thinking about this at 1:31 am, having been unable to fall asleep in my 8 month pregnant, heartburn-riddled state. An intelligent design would not involve depriving mothers of newborns of a full night’s sleep for weeks on end BEFORE the baby even arrives!
Plus, I think if our design was really intelligent, there would be a zipper on the uterus.
Staring at the computer is actually making me feel even more awake. Maybe I’ll try my old reliable “read until I fall asleep” strategy.
Besides, I remember missing being able to read when Noah was a newborn. Even if I can’t start out well rested, maybe I can start out well read.

That last month is hard! I hate it when I want to sleep but cannot.
Oh honey. I know it’s way old-fashioned but we had a waterbed and I never had trouble getting comfortable. One virtue of being pregnant in the 70s I guess.
Here’s hoping the reading makes up for some of the discomfort. I was up too by the way – tweet next time and maybe we can share a late-night conversation….
No lie!! Nuff said.
Congrats on the c-section date (above). Is it bad to say I’m so glad you’re going first? Remind me what it’s like, with special emphasis on the good parts, haha.
